The idea that ‘if the kids are happy the parents are too’ certainly applies to a sailing holiday! It is perfectly possible to take children sailing in Friesland. We have quiet lakes, beaches and there is plenty for children to do. To begin with, they will love playing ‘captain’ on their own ship. Of course, safety is a priority and all the boats have life jackets on board.

Relaxing

These days children’s lives are increasingly hectic. What could be more enjoyable than going sailing with your parents or grandparents, and then finding a quiet spot to do some fishing. They may even catch the largest fish in the lake. In the evening, after a delicious homemade pancake, they will sit rosy-cheeked and enjoy the sunset. Then they will turn in and sleep soundly so that they are ready for the next day’s adventures.

Children will look back on the sailing holiday as the most enjoyable period of the year!
